Leeds fans are once again praising Bailey Peacock-Farrell, but they’re not too impressed by Paul Heckingbottom’s comments on the young keeper.
There hasn’t been too much cause for excitement at Elland Road since Christmas, but the form of 21 year-old goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell is certainly a silver lining if there ever was one.
Peacock-Farrell came into the team for the loss to Wolves after Felix Wiedwald’s horrific showing in the loss to Middlesbrough, and the young keeper hasn’t looked back since.
Despite competition from Wiedwald and veteran Andy Lonergan, the young stopper has made the spot is own, and impressed once again in the 1-1 draw against Sunderland.
Leeds were on top after Pablo Hernandez’s equaliser, but a stoppage time save from Peacock-Farrell was needed to deny Sunderland’s Callum McManaman a certain winner, one of three top quality saves on the day.

“He did well,” manager Paul Heckingbottom said after the match.
“I was speaking out there that the highlights reel that they show, both goalkeepers will be getting a move after that, there was lots of action for them. Bailey pulled three good saves out at good moments in the game for us.
Asked if Peacock-Farrell would be the number one next season, the boss replied: “He’s got to keep improving.”
Leeds fans are delighted with yet another strong showing from their new number one, but some are less than impressed by the manager’s comments, wondering in what universe he could lose his spot to Wiedwald or Lonergan.
