West Ham’s trip to the Bet365 Stadium wasn’t exactly one for the neutrals, as the Hammers and Stoke City produced 31 shots on target but eventually succumbed to a scoreless draw.
High-quality moments were hard to come by but if there was one individual performance that truly stood out, it was produced by Irons midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate – who quite simply dominated in the engine room.
Indeed, as our infographic shows, the Senegal international was nothing short of immense, producing a staggering eight tackles – the most of any player on the pitch – alongside three interceptions, five clearances and four successful aerial duels.
But Kouyate’s impact was by no means limited to keeping the clean sheet; he also contributed on the ball, creating one scoring chance and completing 80% of his passes to keep play ticking over.
