Bayern Munich boosted their hopes of finishing in the top eight of the league phase with a win over 10-man PSG.
Kingsley Coman was Bayern's most threatening player in the first half and the Frenchman nearly opened the scoring in the 28th minute, but he couldn't keep his effort down after beating three defenders.
The hosts didn't have to wait much longer to take the lead, though. PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, starting ahead of Gianluigi Donnarumma, flapped at a brilliant Joshua Kimmich corner and Kim Min-jae had the easy task of heading the ball in.
Bayern continued to threaten, with Kimmich and Leroy Sane going close, and the half-time whistle came as a welcome relief to a poor PSG side.
The French side haven't won in the Champions League since their opening-round victory over Girona and their task of securing all three points at the Allianz Arena was made significantly more challenging when Ousmane Dembele, booked in the first half for dissent, received a second yellow card in the 57th minute for a foul on Alphonso Davies. It could be argued whether the foul warranted another booking, but the winger will have regrets about making such a challenge in Bayern's own area.
Vincent Kompany's side didn't do enough to score a second – Harry Kane, who scored a hat-trick last Friday, was extremely quiet – and they adopted a pragmatic approach late on, but they'll be pleased to secure all three points with three league phase games remaining.

Achraf Hakimi will have been happy to see the back of Kingsley Coman when the winger made way in the 72nd minute. He played with tons of energy and caused PSG's defenders problems throughout. The only thing missing from his performance was a goal.
AFPTHE BIG LOSER
Ousmane Dembele, what were you thinking? The contact was slight and he may have even flicked the ball, but to make such an unnecessary foul while on a yellow card was a really careless move from the 27-year-old and cost his side any real chance of getting something from the match.
AFPWHAT COMES NEXT?
Both sides are next in Champions League action on December 10, with Bayern Munich visiting Shakhtar Donetsk and PSG traveling to Red Bull Salzburg. Luis Enrique's side, on four points from five games, have a lot of work to do if they wish to progress to the knockout rounds.
