According to , Leipzig are stepping up their efforts to bring back Nkunku from the Blues after the Frenchman fell out of favour at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have been in talks with the Bundesliga club on a separate transfer of Xavi Simons, as the Dutchman only wants a move to the West London club.

The report adds that Leipzig are not close to finalising a deal for Nkunku, whom Chelsea values at €50million (£43.2m/$58.2m). Both the Premier League side and the French attacker want a permanent transfer and put an end to his misery at Stamford Bridge.
