That deal is due to expire this summer, with no extension being signed as yet. Speculation has been raging regarding another fresh start for Ronaldo, who has been linked with several teams that are preparing to grace the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Al-Nassr supporters feared seeing the Portuguese GOAT move on after he posted on social media when the 2024-25 campaign came to a close: "This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. The evergreen 40-year-old has now stated that he will be staying in Riyadh. He told reporters after hoisting the UEFA Nations League trophy aloft as captain of Portugal: "It won't change anything. Al-Nassr, yes. You know how old I am already, I'm closer to the end than I was at the beginning. But I have to enjoy every moment. If I don't get seriously injured, I'll keep going."
