Bournemouth forward Callum Wilson had scored nine times in 21 appearances in all competitions for his Premier League club heading into the weekend.
Wilson, who has overcome two horrific knee injuries during his career, scored eight Premier League goals last season, but has already matched that number in the first half of this term.
Earlier this month, Chelsea assistant manager Gianfranco Zola said that Wilson was ‘of interest’ to the London giants.
Bournemouth will find it difficult to keep hold of the 26-year-old as the interest grows, and it would not be a surprise to see Manchester United join the race.
