Rasmus Hojlund marked his Napoli debut in style as the Manchester United flop scored in a 3-1 Serie A victory over Fiorentina, before expressing his delight at joining what he described as an “incredible” team. The Denmark striker joined on loan with a £38 million obligation to buy and wasted no time in making an impact for Antonio Conte’s side.
Hojlund's perfect Napoli debut
Napoli sealed a 3-1 win away at Fiorentina to continue their perfect start to the Serie A season. Hojlund netted in the 14th minute, latching onto a through ball from Leonardo Spinazzola before coolly finishing past ex-United keeper David de Gea. The result saw Napoli move back into top spot on goal difference ahead of Juventus.

“I am very happy with the goal,” Hojlund told Sky Sport Italia. “It’s a very important win today, we won the first three now and want to continue like this. We have a very important game in the Champions League coming up, I am very happy to be with this incredible team.”
He added: “I think we just need to focus on the next match and keep sharp, everybody is going to play a lot of minutes, because we’re in a lot of tournaments with a lot of games. We want to keep winning.”
Hojlund's fitting in in Conte's Napoli
Hojlund struggled at Manchester United after arriving for big money from Atalanta, but Napoli’s system already seems to suit him better. With Conte in charge, the Italian champions are determined to retain their Serie A crown while making an impact in Europe, after having missed out on Champions League qualification last season.
